What works & what doesn't and in what type of conditions. Got a "secret" only you and your shaper know???? Post it here... we can keep it quiet ;-)

The STUB VECTOR does everything easily... regardless of the surf. It catches wave, gains speed, and when you hit the lip or float the white water, it feels like the board is on rails... the boards seems to effortlessly finish your manuvers for you.

The new BLAST Tri, on the other hand, is my favorite board ever. It is a perfect blend of the very aggressive Aussie designs, with all their rocker and fins pushed up into the 20" range, and the more user friendly Quads. This new board (I'll post some pics soon) is super light (SUPER BLUE BLANK) has a huge sweet spot, but has a lot more flip in the nose and tail so it will float or hit ANYTHING, climb over it like an animal, and recover with more speed than you started. I've actually been experimenting with hitting the lip before I even drop into the wave... the board catches waves so quick, I've been popping up, hitting the lip, and then generating an ENORMOUS amout of speed to really kill the next section . Sprocky gave it a spin while I was on his STUB and all he could say was "Jesus... this thing is a rocket.".

The thing I love about all of our dedicated kneeboard shapers, whether it is BUD, or PARKES, or ERIC S., or Jon MEL, is that they have never gotten lazy. Every year their boards get better.... more refined, more dialed, and more fine tuned. If your stick is more than three years old, you could possibly be missing out on surfing better than you ever thought possible. It never ceases to amaze me how far our equipment has come.
God bless those guys.

Thanks EQ, my Blasts are all less than a year old and every one of them is a ROCKET. I'm just anticipating the mushburger days of summer and thinking about which direction I should go, wife and $ permitting. I recently jumped onto my Parkes aussie Tri after spending the winter on Bud's Quads. Its almost like the Quads made me stronger so that when I push my Trifin it takes less effort than when I ride it all the time, almost too sensitive, but good for small waves. Thanks for helping me get a picture of how a Stubb vector or Blast Tri may fit into my quiver.

I'm probably gettting ahead of myself as there is at least 2 months of the NS season left. Ahh the best time of year: between spring break and summer. Da Keiki still in da books and da surrounding sea is alive.

EQ, that's quite the testimonial!! I can't wait to see you riding it at Jalama. If it's 1/2 as good as you say it is you better sleep with the leash attached so as to not have your camping trip ruined! By the way, it's not flat black is it??..Brad

No worries... and I didn't mean YOU needed new boards, I just wanted to make a general statment about getting the US kneelos on new sticks. If you have seen the STUB outline, or the PARKES MUSH bevelled tail, or the FLASHPOINT flex tail, you start realizing the equipment is evolving at a faster pace than it ever has before.
Don't want anyone to miss out on the fun.
