Coming to Santa Barbara & Santa Cruz

Post by Jeffrey »

I am in SB and coming to SC July 24th. I would really like to meet any of you guys here and go surfing if possible. I am a novice but comfortable in the water, just new to KBing. I could really benefit from some guidance as there are no KBers where I live.

The easiest way to reach me is by text at 902-456-9994, or through this board.

Thanks alot!

Am going to be up there myself. Taking my board give me a call. I'll surf with you. Or go by Surfline Surf Shop they are most friendly to us kneeboarder due to the fact than Mel is the man up there!!! And a fellow kneelo legend.

PM so I can get you my info.

Freeline Surf Shop
41st Ave, Capitola, CA

41st is an exit off the freeway, keep going till you get down to one lane in each direction then look for the shop on the right.
It could be worse, I could be in Oakla-homa.

Just wanted to resurrect this thread to say "Thank You" to all the guys who tried to help me while I was in California. Masons, Frog, Scott and Surfhorn...thanks for the PM's and phone calls. I ended up so tangled in family that I crept away for one great morning with Surfhorn who gave me the Grand Tour of Santa Cruz. Thanks So much! I learned so much about kbing that day.

Most importantly, I gained a lot of confidence in the water just by having a go-out with another KBer.

Since being back in Nova Scotia I actually ran across another KBer during hurricane Bill. He looked about 60 years old and as I ran up to him at the shore all he said was, "They call me Half-Man", and jumped into the water! He was surfing an old Islands board. And I thought I was the only KBer up here!

Thanks again and sorry for waiting so long to post my appreciation for you guys willing to help.

Oh, the guys at FREELINE surf went way out of their way to help me get in the water...Thank You!!
