Don't tell anybody but I just checked the buoy report and the swell has jumped several feet in the last few hours. I'll see you there.

Yesterday afternoon was pretty good at the flood, shoulder +, minimum crowd.Got 2+ hrs of the funzone. This morning was a bit of a bust.Maybe got 5 decent waves! And the red tide got my sinuses blocked big time.Used up three cat lives to boot... Any ways, what you see is what you get here in bobo.Did you hang around? The reefs were a mess, even messier than here.Don't worry,it'll get worse...
What's the other kneelos real name?.I'm not calling any grown man banana slug!!...

cheers

Bwaaa, banana slug's name is Scott, nickname comes from UC Santa Cruz. got a few waves, take what I can get on days like this. South wind came up so it got a bit bumpy. better luck next time. Can't believe I'm looking forward to the water getting cold to thin out the herd, err, I mean crowd.

Surf report 2009

Post by khoningford »

Met up with Maxb at an ungodly hour at the usual spot for the journey north...decided to recon Seal beach on the way, but it wasn't happening. (sand wasn,t built in enough and although there was a definite pulse showing, not enough for a go.) I vow to catch this place at least once this winter, so we'll keep trying. Continued on and pulled up to the beachside parking @ a spot that will henceforth remain unnamed save that it was somewhere in "Bull Testicle" and had precious metal in one half of its' moniker. Don't want anymore waxy windshields :P ...Looked a little fat at 1st glance (high tide) but with more swell than this place has seen in a while, we were OUT THERE. Poor timing on my part led to a 10 wave thrashing on the way out..where the hell is the dinghy when you need it??!! Sets were kinda spotty at times, but very fun when they did show with maybe some 6' sets and three hours later, paddled in with big smiles and relieved locals. And so it begins...

HB ns Bowl was like a machine last night :D Overhead low tide drainers, light offshore most of the time ...Got there around 9 with 3 amigos, paddled out and surfed for 3 hours.... waves were very consistent but the channel next to the pier was an easy way out after every ride......

Surf Report

Newport was Newport today, if you know what I mean.

Clean glassy 2-4ft wedging peaks breaking up and down the beach.

It was sunny, water was close to 70 degrees and a light crowd.

Fall is in the air!

One of my favorite times of the year here in CA.

Warm days, warm water, combo swells, good winds, baseball is going into the playoffs, football season is starting.

I love it! 8)

What's the call for SoCal (Santa Monica/Malibu) this weekend? I have to attend a grandson's 1st b-day party on Sunday in Marina del Rey but will have Saturday AM open (and maybe Sunday AM...).

Newport, Talbert Channels

Post by Casey Patelski »

Jimbo, Jimputz and Casey surfed Newport Talbert channels this am to 4-5 foot lined up peaks with light offshores and warm water. Jimputz set up on a left on my paddle out, droped in and got 2 in-n-out barrels..the bastage. Just like Mark Robertson said "Newport was being Newport"...finally it's Fall. Casey

Rincon has been fun the past week and last weekend. Crowds were low today as the new NW was filling in, mostly 2-3' with a couple better sets.

Water is sooo warm and more swell tomorrow
