woolongong comp

I got a wek's holiday booked already.
Here's what I expect from the Gong:
1. Some beers with a few kneeboarders
2. A trophy (worst hair cut or something)
3. A few waves with some rabid kneeboarders
4. A freshly caught fish for the pan.
I you guys can arrange all that, then I'll be happy - contest or no contest.
Yes, water polo is big, Kev - not much space that I could find, but camping might be another story.

Please remain calm, Old Crazy, I'm sure that the Womble in you would be satisfied with Red's criteria if worse comes to worst....but saying that we have a number of other options open to us, it's just a matter of following them through (at the last minute-thanks WCC) and then making it public - Red, you might end up closer to the comp than we thought.

Kev, the Wollongong comp in the Wollongong council judisdiction isn't going ahead, but there are two other councils within the Wollongong Area that we are applying to for approval to hold a comp with another couple of options being worked at, we are very hopeful that it will go ahead despite the predicament that Wollongong Council have put us in, if all else fails there will be an unofficial gathering for those who have booked and can't change there hols and those who want to come to the land of no waves anyway. More than that I can't shed any more light, sorry if there is any confusion (but you should see it up here confusion/angst/hopefulness/Smurf's jokes/no waves and back again)
Hopefully this will be resolved shortly and we'll move on, look back and laugh about it.
Cheers Wolruss

Just to let you all know that John Clingan has postponed the Wollongong Comp this year to early May (probably 8th & 9th) mainly to keep the venue near our sponsor in Wollongong within the Wollongong Council jurisdiction where we have applied for our Developement Proposal. There are a few factors involved and an executive was made and apologies all round for any inconvenience caused. Smurf has said that if anyone has paid deposits and are having problems getting it back to contact him and he will approach them personally to see if things can't be worked out.
Further details will be posted on the KSA site by John shortly.

By the way, if anyone is still coming to Wollongong for March 27th & 28th, we'll still organise a gathering of sorts......Talking to Stan, he tells me that he, Red & his wife are still heading up so we'll organise some surfing & bbq's for that weekend, just let me know so I'll have an idea of numbers.
