Our dream surf vehicle turned reality... Fords' Transit Connect.
She holds 3-4 boards with fins in, 5-6 boards w/o fins, 4 people with all their gear, OR 2 people comfortably for camping.
She does over 100mph (found this out on our way home from Don Harris'), gets 27mpg, and is totally comfy as my daily driver.
She is kinda funny looking, but we love her!
And yes, I do love stickers! Thanks to all who have contributed.
If anyone else has some to add, I'd gladly add them to the inside doors.

Very stoked for all you guys with fine rigs! I've enjoyed this thread; the pics have been cool.
I'm not influenced by the past; I change it!

My current rig, and I'm keeping it. 385,000 miles/ 620,000km's, and original clutch. :D
Been in deep snow, sand, and dirt, never stuck.

One of these might be ok for safaris.

Eric, it is a post war Schwinn Panther.
I deeply regret letting go of the Land Rover. I did a frame up restoration on that car, as I did on the Schwinn, the Norton Commando, and the Triumph Daytona.

I had an old 1947 Land Rover for years. Flat out at 55 mph but that didn't stop epic trips to Frazer Island twice a year. The picture below is similar to the one I had. Unfortunately I lost my pictures in my parents house fire.

The original motor was replaced with a 149 red series holden motor, as the original 1500cc motor used to burn out exhaust valves every 6 months. Another quirk it developed after the holden motor was put in was it kept break the pins in the mechanical clutch. I got really good at replacing them in 45 minutes. I broke one on the beach at Double Island Point and had to drive back to Brisbane in Easter Monday traffic. That was fun

Very nice Series 1 Land Rover.
Mine was a 1972 Series 3 with a Series 2A front end, and registered as a 1962, standard 2.25 liter engine. Lots of work done on it. It would cruise at 70+. It had been to the tip of South America twice, stolen and ditched in a river for six months before I bought it. Lots of live river things came out of the engine, transmission, and axle housings. I took it to the tip of Baja and to the Canadian border.
