looks like about 30 aussies going from what I have heard.....thats a lot of drinks Darcy...lol...
Hey Tony - changing your mind? Sounds good to me! And Jon is crazy, I don't drink ...
... beer.
will drop in on Bruce tomorrow and check out your board...am thinking if I or someone can transport it for you ...they will get slugged when departing Tahiti by customs....?????? though whats to say you break one in the surf?????
that's what I was wondering too ... what if it gets stolen? Swept out to sea? Broken into a million little pieces like your body at Teahupoo? Are you supposed to bring them the fragments?

just a thought ... you know I'd be eternally grateful to have you hand me the board in Papara ... but it's your call.

hope to see you there! Keep working on it!
:D

scrimmage

Post by Jack Beresford »

Thanks to everyone who showed for last Saturday's "scrimmage" at O-side. Conditions were less than idea for running heats - so we declared it a gathering and just went surfing. John Eckert got a few nice shots. He said the lighting and distance prevented him from getting more. Here is a link to his site:

Our last scrimmage will be June 19 - again at South Jetty starting about 6 a.m. Come one, come all!

Hi Jack
Unfortunately for me, I cant go, and I do need a break aswell. My business is going all guns at the moment so I cant delegate the work, I have have been playing the kneelo scene for some 25 years and bumming around which was great. But right now I have to make up for all that bumming around, Its called reality  So hopefully down the track I can come to these events at the drop of a hat.
It will be the first time I have missed a major event in a long long time. and to be honest with I will really miss not being there. the major reason is that I have 5 commercial jobs due for completion right in the middle of the worlds, 2 of these projects have been running for 2 1/2 years. So I have to be there. Alot of time, creative thoughts and money have gone into these projects, so for me its like winning a world title in comparison.
And to say the least, it opens up bigger doors for me :D

I am sure you will do well, and I wish everyone who competes all the best, and catch some cowpoo barrels for me pleeeeaaasssseee.

cheers

Jack:

I received confirmation of my entry also. Don, thanks for the team USA page and thanks KSUSA for the hat, shirt and trunks. We may be old but we're gonna look good!

Steen,

No worries - just mark November 2005 on your calendar and start thinking about coming over here for the next World Titles (pending governing body approval). It's our intention to float a proposal on this following the Tahiti event.

We might finally get you guys on OUR home turf!

Dave Noel

Post by Jack Beresford »

Everyone,

Dave Noel from Santa Cruz is now planning on making the trip! Nice to see NoCal represented. We don't expect him for any scrimmages but maybe he can simulate a few heats with some Sea Lions between now and the contest.

That's funnier than you know because Dave is just as loud as the Sea lions. You guys show him some new shapes, He is stuck in the same SC rut that I am in or was. If the swell gets big he will do just fine. I still think this will be an eye opener for him. Good luck to everyone and Darcy bring home the hardware. Jon

Got the "Freezin' Rican" contingent spending the night tonight on their way over to Tahiti, and it really rubs in how much I'll miss this one. Had such a great time at the last World's. I'm really going to miss the competition and comraderie. There's nothing like the World's, and I wish all the best to everyone fortunate enough to make it. Get some for me! ;-)
